Why renovate or extend
rather than move?

Home renovations have become increasingly popular in Western Australia as people realise the cost of moving.

Obviously the first consideration to renovation is your locality. You have to be happy with it.

If it's convenient for your work – or within the right school zone – or you have friends nearby – or you simply like the area in which you live - it makes sense to renovate rather than move.
When you consider:

- the cost of a real estate agent selling your home
- the stamp duty cost when you buy your new home
- the cost of removalists

When you consider the cost of just these three items…we can tell you that you can get a lot of renovating work done for the same price.

But in addition there's some emotional costs to consider…. the cost to your family of moving away from their friends and having to find new ones …

The cost of having to say good bye to the home you've been happy in.

When you consider all this we applaud your decision to renovate and we want you to know that we respect your decision.

If you choose to stay in your home while the renovations take place we'll do our utmost to minimise the inconvenience and we will give your renovation our very best.

"I'm please to recommend Mr. Ian Rice as both an excellent craftsman and as a very reliable person. Within the last 12 years Ian Rice has undertaken three roofing projects connected to improvements to my home. Initially he was contracted by my house-builder to undertake roofing extensions. Being a stickler for quality and good aesthetic results I was impressed by the care taken and by the standard of finish. He took unusual interest in seeking out matching colour and tile styles bearing in mind the original supplier had ceased to manufacture the originals. When I subsequently built a larger extension, a task that was far from being straightforward because of difficult elevations again the outcome was excellent. The third occasion was when I had all the windows in my house replaced. The finished work included sensible modifications." Richard Price Brockenhurst
